Preparing for the Trip
I learnt that there is no difference between a 2-day weekend getaway and a week long holiday. You still have to pack everything short of the kitchen sink!! So for those planning for a holiday, please take heed. We packed all of Aiden's makan stuff into a huge laundry basket, including boiled drinking water and a thermos of hot water from home.
Our car boot was filled with his pram/stroller, laundry basket, and a large plastic bag for other miscellaneous items which didn’t go into the overnight bag : pampers, wet wipes and his toys.
Checking-In
We arrived just short of 12 noon, and went straight to check-in. As usual, mummy here had a whole list of requirement in accordance to priority. (We had booked for a 2 bedroom suite)
- 2nd bedroom must have twin bed (My maid came along and my mum has to share the bedroom with her)
- Hubby wanted a 2 storey duplex (Downstairs kitchen, dining and living room, Upstairs 2 bedrooms)
- I wanted top floor with golf view (Less noise coming from the courtyard)
The hotel managed to fulfil our requirements but we had to settle with a jungle view. Not bad considering that the hotel was fully booked due to school holidays and corporate trainings from 3 different companies.
Lunch
We had pasta and pizza for lunch (so expensive liao) – costs us close to RM100 and was not that great. To top it off, all of us were still hungry after the meal and had to buy buns and cakes for tea. As Aiden was getting fidgety, we thought that we'd try to visit the Japanese Garden after a short nap.
Japanese Tea Garden (Day 1)
Our first attempt to visit the Garden on Day 1, we took the shuttle (open air) to the top. When we arrived at the gardens, it actually started to rain ~ sigh….. So we went up the steep steep hill (aiyo – so scary) and down the steep steep hill and back to the hotel....
So "potong steam" lar…..
Here he is prior to the trip:
Dinner (Day 1)
This was the first time we took Aiden out after his night feed and falling asleep at 8pm. We went to their Coffee House and had their BBQ buffet. Actually there was no choice because the ala carte menu is not served until after 10pm. Food review: 4.5 out of 10. Lousy and we were charged RM45++ per pax. All was well and Aiden slept soundly, until the Live Band (aiks!) came on. He managed to sleep for another half an hour before he was woken up by the lady screeching…hmm......
We makan fast fast, and made our way back to the room where Aiden promptly fell back to sleep (Phew!)
We spent the remaining evening in the living room enjoying coffee and chatting with my mum (something which I seldom do nowadays). The climate was cool and it was a refreshing change from the stifling air and the city's hustle and bustle.
* Hotel was actually very nice to provide us with a complimentary baby cot:
