The Morning After Mother's Day
14 May 2007, Monday
A Belated Happy Mother's Day to all mummies old and new.
It was a first for me being a first time mum, and my 2 weekend nights were taken up by dinners. On Saturday night, we took my mum out for dinner at Tony Roma's in Sunway Pyramid. Okay, so we were kinda expecting pork ribs (like in Singapore & Shanghai) but of course, we are in M'sia so they only serve beef ribs here. It was pack to the brim (we actually had to wait half hour before we got a table).
Aiden was such a good boy that night and was screaming and playing with his grandparents. Oh, and I have tried giving him mash potatoes from here and he takes it quite well. Service was quite poor – I really don’t know if it is from the lack of training or because they were really really packed that night. All in all – I give it a 6 out of 10.
Sunday was another adventure to Pantai Seafood Centre (near Kampung Kayu Ara). This is the fastest 8 course dinner we had --- this time I went with my MIL, SIL and their family. We did not make reservations, so we had to be there at 645pm to have dinner and be out of there by 8pm cause there was another family coming in at that time!! Food on that night was so-so only and I think it was due to the immense crowd. But I give credit that it is a great place for seafood, but do call in for reservations on weekends.
Verdict : I you want to have a nice dinner with good service without the wrath of customers who are waiting for tables breathing down your neck; then do it at least 1 week before the actual day.
PS: Referring to some blogs on Mother's Day being slightly of an overkill and that we should not wait until that day to show appreciation to our mothers --- well, I totally support and agree!! But had to "sek chou" abit here – so bought 2 small bouquets of flowers for both mum and MIL. And of course who is to complain when 1 was also at the receiving end – lou kong bought me half dozen tulips from Petaling Street (wholesalers and much cheaper)

eh i went to the pantai seafood (in fact i stay near there once) and we waited 3 hours and only 3 dishes came . We wanted to pay just the 3 dishes and they asked us to pay 200+ for the 388 packages. So angry that time. I guess they improved edi
