My Garden
27 June 2007, Wednesday
Since we moved into our home 3 years ago, I've been quite passionate about making it as homely as possible (a wifely instinct? Har har). This includes my little patch of a garden; it's not very big, perhaps 5 feet by 12 feet? I have invested on nice grass and took countless trips to Sungai Buloh to buy flowers and plants. This is where I find solace after a hard days' work in the office. Even when I was preggie, I used to spend at least half hour each day after work in the garden be it weeding, clearing dried leaves or just having a cuppa. Hubby will get quite stressed out cause I was still weeding the garden when I was 8 months pregnant. Ever seen a hippo trying to sit on a small plastic stool weeding?? Well – that's how crazy I was.
Anyway, I thought the fruits of my labor will go down the drain with the coming of Aiden, but thankfully I have a maid whose just as passionate about gardens as I am ~ or maybe it's just an excuse for her to sit out and people watch!! (I forbid her to talk to other maids).
Here are some of my flowers in full bloom taken yesterday:

oo i always love having flowers, but hubby always get plants without flowers..grr
love those petunias.. they are called petunias right? i can never seem to maintain them....
beautiful, i also noticed thru the backgrounds of ur photos that ur house is amazingly decorated :D like a resort! we cant wait to start planting around our house once we are ready.
Wow a mom with green fingers! And a garden to proof it - it looks beautiful. Me and gardens dun mix *lol*. We buy hardy potted plants with and without flowers (not cactus) which can live without water for days *lol*. My garden is at the back of the house and is nothing to boast for especially all it has is a Christmas tree and green cow grass plus a couple of odd Ixoras here and there.
Jazzmint : my hubby doesnt give 2 hoots about the garden:) So he let's me do as I please
Mom2ashley : uh huh. Petunias. Just make sure they dont get too much sun (it'll wilt) or too much water. Then it'll be just fine.
G : No lar. Actually quite bare at some spots. and we have 2 more unfurnished bedrooms upstairs ! What do you mean by once u are ready?
Pinky : Kudos to my maid whose also diligently care for the plants. With my instructions of course.
Hi, my first time here and i came across your blog on Karen's. Me and hubby too, love to make up our home, but for the garden, it is hubby's job to tend to it. YOur bloom is so beautiful!
we're currently preparing the ground to lay the lawn. once done, we'll get some good planting soil (need lots of it) for our garden beds around the house and also start buying potted plants. a bit of gardening to do all around the house ;) Can't wait!
thanks for hopping by... glad to know another aidan, aiden, or ayden...!! :)
You live in a house or condo unit? Looks really nice. Also, good job on the flowers. Everything I grow dies, so I wouldn't want to kill another plant...kekeke...
Awesome! Hrmmmm, maybe I should start a new hobby soon. Hahaha!
I actually don't bother with plants.. I like zen-like garden.. but my husband.. haiya.. he's working on the garden almost every weekend.. Zzzzz
i tell you. i used to do gardening when i was preggie. i think its good exercise. but when jayden come along can kiss my apple tree bye bye . yr garden very nice hor...
really nice flowers there. not forgettin you have a really nice house. i love the blinds. so classy.
i tried growin the petunias on several attempts but it died anyway. it needs too much of attention like.
now i only grow plants without flowers. easier to maintain.
so envy...and sooo nice...will be a great place for Aiden
had those petunias too when i had erika...but they all died-ed after awhile.
resort to planting greens and stuff that just lands or crawl itself in my garden!
Nice flowers and garden you have. You really have green fingers...
My flower plants only survive for the first month after we bought them..then all die of duuno what reason...told myself not gonna buy flower plant anymore..really heartache seeing them dying.
